AHBA Sanctioned Trial/Test at Keepstone Farm
Berryville, Virginia August 30, 31 and September 1, 2008
Classes: The Trial classes offered on August 30,31 will be HTD sheep (I, II, and III); HRD sheep (I, II, and III); HTAD sheep (I, II and III -- course # 2-- gather with gate sort); HTAD ducks (I, II and III -- course # 2-- gather with gate sort - Limited to 10 runs daily); Test classes: JHD and HCT (Sheep). Monday September 1 will be two Limited RLF trials (Morning and Afternoon) – 15 runs per trial. Judging will begin at 8:00 a.m. sharp each day. Check-in from 7:30-7:45 a.m. for any "day of" trial entries if space allows. PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHECK IN DAY OF THE TRIAL IF YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL CONFIRMATION.
Judges: August 30, 31 - Sue Mesa, Marc Mesa, Wink Mason Limit: 40 runs per judge each day. September 1 – Sue Mesa (Trial 1) Wink Mason (Trial 2) Limit: 15 runs/trial
Placements: Ribbons will be awarded to 6 places in each class and qualifying ribbons will be awarded for any qualifying round, regardless of placement. Even non-qualifying runs can place! (Non-qualifying runs will not be tabulated for the cumulative awards).
Special Awards: We will be awarding a daily High in Trial, Reserve High in Trial, and various Breed High in Trials. Additionally, a Cumulative Award to the dog accruing the highest points over Saturday/Sunday in the trial level classes (HTAD, HTD, and HRD). The prize for the cumulative winner will include a certificate for a free one day entry at our next trial!
Fees: The pre-entry fee will be $42/run/dog in all classes on Sat/Sun. Pre-entry fee for RLF on Monday is $46/run/dog. Pre-entries open August 11 and must be postmarked/hand delivered by August 24, 2008. A $10 discount from total entry fee is given for any dog pre-entered in HTD, HRD and HTAD on the same day. Entries will be accepted after 8/24/08 and on the day of the trial if limits are not met. Entries postmarked or delivered after 8/24 will be $46/run/dog in Sat/Sun classes, and $50 for Monday RLF classes. Make Checks payable to Susan Rhoades and send with entries to:

Directions: From the East, Take Rt.7 west past the Clark County Fairgrounds; through 2 lights. Take the next right, which is Russell Rd/Rt.660. Go 3/10ths of a mile to the driveway on the right, Keepstone Farm Sign, #412. From the West: Take Rt.7 east from Winchester, approximately 2 miles past the Opequon Water Treatment plant turn left onto Russell Rd/Rt.660. proceed as above.

Shelter: Competitors and spectators should dress for Virginia's August/September weather (possible heat, humidity, rain) and are welcome to bring their own tenting.
